I would give my novel a three star rating out of five. It was a very simple easy read that many of Americas teenagers today can easily relate to; and some adults may have went through these experiences when they were younger.
My novel was about a genius teenage boy growing up. His struggles with the world, his hardships, his funny moments, and his happy times. You get to know this boy very well, his friends, family, and the way his mind works.
Some of my favorite quotes from the novel were-
-"The billboard showed a blonde with immense breasts. it simply said "Hooters-- The Cure for the Common Restaurant." (Page 221)
-"I honestly can't remember the second half of my senior year. I spent it all on Judith. She worked in Manhattan, and every few days i picked her up from work. She lived in far Brooklyn, and almost every day I went there on the subway to hang out in her bed room... I threw up on our first date." (page 199)
-"You know, Hec, high school and summer camp and girls are all different from the way they are on TV. But Cops. Cops are exactly the same." (Page 170)
These three quotes are my favorite because most of us can probably relate to these.
The first one is talking about a first trip to Hooters. I can speak for the majority of us when I say we've all had our first trip to Hooters and will probably not soon forget it.
The second quote had to do with high school dating, which now-a-days teenagers make it seem like marriage and a lot more serious than it actually was intended to be. When you re in a high school relationship you generally spend as much possible time with your sweetie as you can and that is exactly what Ned did his senior year. Breaking curfew, causing his parents to be concerned that he was doing drugs because of the way he was acting and all.
The last quote was completely true. school, camp, and girls never are the same in TV shows and real life. but cops, they do not change in the TV shows and real life, theres the really mean, scary ones, and then theres the really nice ones.
On this link about half way down the page it just tells some little odd facts about the book that the author wrote.
On this link it tells a little bit about the author and some of his other works and this one.
